Daily Care
To preserve the lustre of your platinum or gold jewellery, we
recommend that you remove your jewellery when engaging in the following
activities:
- Household and outdoor chores (cleaning, gardening etc)
- Showering, bathing or swimming in pools, hot tubs, hot springs or the ocean
- Applying lotion, sunscreen, hair products, perfumes and other cosmetics
- Exercising at the gym or during contact sports
- Preparing meals
How to Clean Gold and Platinum Jewellery
Ideally, most rings can be cleaned using an ultrasonic bath, though some stones, such as emeralds, are not suitable. Always check with your jeweller before using an ultrasonic cleaner. Alternatively, you may follow the steps below:
- Put a small amount of mild detergent and hot water into a bowl and place you jewellery in it. Ensure it’s in a secure location, ie. not on the rim of the sink where a piece may slip down the drain.
- Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes then use a pair of tweezers to remove your jewellery from the bowl.
- Gently clean behind the setting and in between crevices with a soft bristle brush to remove any debris.
- Rinse well, pat dry and polish your gold or platinum jewellery using the included polishing cloth.
Life Long Care
- Clean your jewellery often; lotions, soaps and skin oils build up and alter the optical properties of diamonds and gemstones, causing them to look dull.
- For security, keep your Laboratory Report & Certificate of Authenticity in a safe location, separate from your jewellery.
- Treat each piece as if it is the family heirloom it’s destined to become.

FAQ
Jewellery Care
Gold is a relatively soft metal, so while you can wear it daily, it’s best to avoid exposure to chemicals like perfumes, lotions, and cleaning products, as they can dull the finish. Clean your gold jewellery with warm water and mild soap, then gently polish with a soft cloth.
To keep your silver jewellery looking its best, gently clean it with a soft, damp cloth after each wear to remove oils and dirt. For a deeper clean, use a silver polishing cloth or a solution of warm water with a small amount of mild dish soap. Always dry your silver pieces completely before storing them.
Diamonds are the hardest natural substance, but they can still be chipped or scratched if they come into contact with other hard materials. Always store your diamond jewellery in a separate compartment or soft pouch to avoid scratches. Clean your diamonds regularly with a soft cloth or a non-abrasive jewellery cleaner.
It’s a good idea to have your jewellery professionally cleaned and inspected every 12 to 18 months, especially for pieces that you wear frequently. This will help maintain their sparkle and catch any potential issues like loose stones or worn prongs.
Keep your jewellery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Use individual pouches or a jewellery box with separate compartments to prevent pieces from scratching each other. For diamonds, ensure they are stored away from other hard gemstones to avoid damage.
It’s best to remove your jewellery before swimming or showering. Water, especially chlorinated or saltwater, can cause damage to precious metals and stones. Additionally, soaps and shampoos can leave residues that dull the appearance of your jewellery.
It's best to remove your jewellery before engaging in physical activities like exercise, sports, or heavy lifting. This helps avoid any risk of damage or stretching, especially with softer metals like gold and silver. Plus, exposure to sweat can tarnish your jewellery over time.
